What is the difference between a Hybrid and an Electric Car?

A Hybrid Electric Vehicle (self-charging) is Powered by a petrol engine with the capability to switch to an electric motor when power demands are low. The battery is charged by the petrol engine or topped up with charge during braking. A plug-in hybrid can do normal daily driving, this recharges its battery using the engine or through regenerative braking or plug–in at home. A plug-in hybrid offers a greater pure electric range some up to 35 miles thanks to a larger battery pack and electric motor. A plug-in hybrid will meet the daily commuting needs of many people.

An EV Electric Vehicle is powered by an electric motor. The battery is charged when plugged into the electric grid at home or work or at one of many charging points across the UK.

There are different ways to charge your vehicle, rapid, fast, and trickle.

30-45 minutes Rapid

Located in fuel stations, motorway services, and key destinations supplying power at 50kWh or more.

6-12 hours Fast Charging

Available at supermarkets, streets, car parks, and leisure facilities. We also supply home charging units more details can be found here.

12-24 hours Trickle Charging
