 | A smooth and quiet ride - reduced road noise. From the start of the project, our lead engineer decided - after a long journey home with his young baby - that the new Civic should be as quiet and smooth as he could make it. It took real road testing to deliver on that promise, because when we reduced road noise in one area it had an effect and impact on other aspects of the car. So we kept on testing until we found the optimum balance - the result lets you really enjoy every second of the drive. |
 | Vehicle Stability Assist – correcting slips before they happen. Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) helps keep your Civic on course in adverse driving conditions by detecting and then correcting the potential to over- and under-steer. It adjusts the engine output, intelligently applying the ABS to each wheel. Sometimes the response can be so quick that instability will be corrected before you even become aware of it. |

 | Ergonomic interior - a premium interior, built around you. The Civic interior was built on the principle that our design should have the driver at its heart. From the high quality materials, the lumbar support for the driver's seat to the i-MID information display. Add to this intuitive steering wheel mounted controls and the result is a new premium interior, with everything easy to find and ergonomically placed. When it came to designing the Civic's rear wing, the engineers knew how the wing improved the handling of the car so they were bold and decided to make it even bigger. This new design not only improves aerodynamics and handling, but also looks. The same applies to the rear light combination. Positioned on the edge of the wing there are three fins that split and break the airflow, making the car more aerodynamic and help to stabilize the car. We like to think the design not only works well but enhances the Civic’s smooth, clean lines. |

All have been engineered to deliver impressive economy, exhilarating performance and cleaner emissions. The 1.8 litre i-VTEC is like having two engines in one. Giving you the performance of a more powerful engine, but with the fuel efficiency of a smaller engine. Its acceleration is athletic, but when it comes to noise it’s one of the quietest and most refined of its type.  | Suspension - handling and practicality working together. When designing the Civic's suspension, our engineers wanted to achieve the perfect balance between comfort and handling. Due to the design of the Civic's innovative Magic Seats (which intelligently create more cabin space), a typical suspension system would not fit under the chassis. As we didn’t want to remove the popular Magic Seats our engineers looked for a clever solution. The answer: an innovative system that uses 'fluid-filled bushes'. This design not only allowed engineers to keep the Magic Seats, but also achieved an excellent balance between a comfortable ride and agile handling. |
