document.write('
RE-STYLED CIVIC FOR 2009
');
document.write('
');
document.write('Honda’s British-built Civic has been refreshed this autumn, in direct response to customer feedback.
');
document.write('The Civic has been a resounding success in the UK since it was introduced three years ago, with a stylish design that still looks as good as it did at launch. As a result only minor changes have been required to bring the car bang up-to-date.
');
document.write('
');
document.write('The 5-door remains as practical and flexible as ever – a stalwart model for families and ‘young-at-heart’ customers who want reliability and flexibility in an ultra-stylish package.
');
document.write('
');
document.write('The Type S will increasingly appeal to a younger customer base with sportier features that make it look even more like the Type R, but also sensible ownership costs that are lighter on the pocket.
');
document.write('Both models will appeal to the increasing number of downsizers thanks to a new 1.4-litre petrol engine that has a lower starting price and is super-economical to run.

');
}

function Jazz(){
document.write('
The previous Jazz was such a successful car that creating its successor was always going to be a challenge. But by enhancing the car’s strongest qualities, the engineers at Honda have taken Jazz on to the next stage, producing a car with even greater flexibility, more interior space and a ‘bigger car’ feel. Arriving at a time of rising fuel prices and general tightening of belts, the latest Jazz offers a range of lively, economical petrol engines, which will appeal to the increasing number of cost-conscious motorists and downsizers. With TARDIS-like packaging, this clever and versatile car has a class-leading specification, finished with high quality materials and trim. In short, the new Jazz offers all the benefits of a large car, in the mould of a small one. The new model is a formidable second generation car that raises the bar even further in the highly competitive supermini segment.
');

function CivicHybrid(){
document.write('
Let’s face it; most so-called ‘green’ cars are ugly. Not only that, they’re ugly and they’re slow. It’s all very well being environmentally-friendly, but who wants to drive around in something that looks like a deflated rugby ball and struggles to overtake a milk-float?
');
document.write('
Not the team of designers at Honda. They’ve created the bold, striking and stylish Civic Hybrid – proving that green can be beautiful.
');
document.write('
But it’s not all about image. Honda’s clever new IMA system produces more power than a typical 1.6-litre engine (115PS), but only uses the same amount of fuel as a 1.1-litre car (61.4mpg combined). It also drives, sounds and behaves just like a conventional petrol-engined car. There’s no strange starting procedure or complicated operating system – it looks like a modern, stylish saloon, and it drives like a modern, stylish saloon. It’s no slouch either; the Hybrid has a top speed of 115mph.
');
document.write('
So, it looks good and it’s got the goods under the bonnet. You’re probably wondering what the catch is. Well… we’re struggling to find one. The Civic Hybrid may well be the first ever ‘no-compromise’ alternative-energy car.
');
}

function CivicTypeR(){
document.write('
What’s the general direction for the new Civic Type R?
');
document.write('
Every manufacturer bangs on about ‘refinement’, but when we say the latest Civic Type R is more refined, we mean that it’s easier to use everyday. It’s still got the raw driving appeal of the outgoing model, but we’ve responded to feedback from customers and critics to make the car better in ‘real world’ conditions. It’s more comfortable, quieter and has more equipment – and the VTEC ‘power band’ is easier to reach more often.
');
document.write('
The Civic Type R has matured and evolved into a more rounded performer that’s now just as good on the road as it is on a track.
');
document.write('
Why isn’t the Civic Type R more powerful and faster than other hatches – or indeed the last Type R?
');
document.write('
It’s not all about raw figures and statistics. And it isn’t about building the fastest or most powerful car in the world. Cars carrying the Red ‘H’ badge promise to provide a well-engineered and exciting driving experience. Honda was not prepared to get involved in a “horsepower war” with other car builders – we could have chased higher power figures, but that would mean compromising the way the car feels to drive. We’ve also stayed true to the Type R philosophy of maintaining a normally-aspirated engine, to give smoother acceleration (so we haven’t just strapped a big turbo on, and then dealt with the problems sometimes associated with forced induction).
');
document.write('
When developing this car, the aim was to make the driver feel totally integrated to give the most rewarding driving experience. From the driving position, to the engine note, to the steering feel – the Type R competes with the best.
');
}

function Accord(){
document.write('
What’s the general direction for the new Accord?
');
document.write('
The new Accord provides a strong challenge to the traditional premium manufacturers in the D-sector with sporty styling, greater refinement and excellent driving dynamics. All engines in the line up are designed to meet Euro 5 legislation, and its sector-leading package of safety systems rivals most E-sector cars.
');
document.write('
The new Accord plays an important role in continuing to strengthen Honda’s market position, particularly in the corporate sector.
');

function Legend(){
document.write('
The launch of the 2006 Legend prompts a few key questions. One of the most pertinent of these is: why is a large-market manufacturer like Honda tackling the competitive prestige arena?
');
document.write('
Well, consider it, if you will, as part of the bigger Honda picture. Legend is the next – and perhaps most important – stage of Honda’s rise up the class ladder.
');
document.write('
The Accord has already made a significant dent in the German dominated Upper-medium D-sector. It offers not just supreme build quality with superior advanced technology to the class-leaders, it also has a distinct personality – reflected in the now infamous ‘Cog’ advertising. At Honda, we call this ‘warm engineering’. It proves a stark contrast to the cold, impersonal approach of the Teutonic car makers.
');
document.write('
The launch of the 5-door Civic at the end of 2005 continued Honda’s push into a more prestigious market – maintaining high standards of quality and low running costs, while coupling cutting-edge looks with a sporty, exciting drive.
');
document.write('
Now comes the really brave bit: another foray into the unforgiving E-sector with the Legend. And while the new executive saloon offers comfort, quality, trim and specifications to match even the strongest competitors – Legend also gives much more, in the shape of unique and class-leading handling performance and innovative safety features. It offers the expected, and the unexpected.
');
document.write('
As such, this car epitomises Honda’s position in the car market. It delivers remarkable quality, an involving drive, contemporary styling, cutting-edge technology and the highest possible levels of safety. It does all this while maintaining a distinct personality.
');
document.write('
So, perhaps for the first time, the 2006 Legend will live up to its moniker. Certainly, it can now offer a definite – and very different – challenge to the opposition.
');

function CRV(){
document.write('
Many people who choose to drive an SUV, do so because they prefer the high driving position – it often gives a feeling of safety and confidence. Meanwhile, some drivers opt for a car in this category because they enjoy the assurance of four-wheel drive.
');
document.write('
But if, primarily, you’re using an SUV on the road, is there a reason why that vehicle can’t offer all of the above, and still drive like a ‘normal’ car? It’s a question we at Honda asked ourselves. Too many SUVs are soggy and uninvolving. The ride is often wallowy and steering sometimes feels indirect. Couldn’t the new CR-V offer a higher driving position, the security of four-wheel drive, the practicality of an SUV and the driving characteristics of a saloon car? Err… well, yes it could.
');
document.write('
The second generation CR-V was already pretty good on the road, but in developing the latest car, Honda has concentrated on increasing cornering agility, creating saloon-like ride quality and improving stability – all without compromising the car’s load space and practicality.
');
}

function FRV(){
document.write('
Going out with the family is supposed to be relaxing and fun and the FR-V was built with this in mind.
');
document.write('
The FR-V breaks the mould in the C-MPV sector because it’s a stylish and comfortable car. It’s built on a wide chassis to minimise body roll, has easy-peasy manoeuvrability (try saying that after a few drinks) thanks to a small turning circle and nippy engines. But that’s just some of the technical stuff before we look at the clever interior and attention to detail.
');
document.write('
It is extremely versatile with more storage space and clever hidden compartments than you can play hide and seek in. As a result it can cater for a huge range of driver and passenger needs. Name the family occasion or requirement and we bet an FR-V can handle it. Doing the school-run; picking up your children’s friends after-school; shopping; a relaxing day out with the grandparents; a luggage-laden trip to the airport – we could go on...
');
}

function S2000(){
document.write('
Honda’s iconic two-seater roadster has been revised for 2006 with changes to aesthetics and performance. The S2000 retains its famed high-revving, 240PS 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine, but for 2006 this now has a drive-by-wire system for better throttle control and improved engine management. The DBW throttle set-up allows for the introduction of Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) on the S2000, and is available as an option for the first time. VSA is designed to help the driver keep control during cornering, acceleration and sudden manoeuvres. It works by applying brake force to different wheels as necessary and managing the throttle and ignition systems. There are two new colours to choose from: Deep Burgundy metallic and a vibrant Bermuda Blue pearlescent. These are complemented by attractive, new 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels. And on the inside there’s a new interior combination of brown (Birch) and black, while the aluminium trim elements on the centre console now carry a black finish. There’s also an outside temperature gauge as part of the standard dashboard display.
');
document.write('
And ‘top down’ motoring needn’t mean compromised enjoyment of the audio system, thanks to the introduction of 60W speakers that fit within each side of the two roll-over hoops located just behind the head rests.
');

function Insight(){
document.write('
The whole world’s gone green. But what does green really mean?
');
document.write('
At Honda, we think that being good is better than being green; after all being green is only part of being good. This was why in 1972 we started developing our lower mpact petrol engines. As the world’s largest engine manufacturer we learnt that once a technology exists, we needed to know how to get the best results from it. That’s why we have developed innovative coaching technology for the Honda Insight. It encourages you to drive in a way that saves you money and creates fewer emissions, while still enjoying your driving experience.
');
document.write('
The Insight is a vital step towards our dream of emission free cars, so if we all strive to be good now, who knows what we’ll achieve next?
');
}

function CRZ(){
document.write('
First and foremost, the CR–Z is designed to turn heads – with the innovative and sporty looks you’d expect from a Honda coupe. And with its agile handling, direct steering and 6–speed transmission, it’s also great fun to drive.
');
document.write('
But we didn’t want to stop there. We decided the CR-Z would be a hybrid too - the first of its kind on the road. This not only offers cleaner exhaust emissions, but also helps the CR–Z feel even nippier.
');
document.write('
The result? A driving experience like no other.
');
}
